Clinical Pilates.
"Pilates is complete coordination of body, mind and spirit" - Joseph Pilates.
Typically, clinical Pilates refers to Pilates which is individualised and targeted following an injury or surgery.
Clinical Pilates sessions are run by a qualified physiotherapist or exercise physiologist (or other qualified allied health professional), who has extensive knowledge when it comes to bodily movement patterns and function as well as injury. At She Healthcare, an experienced women’s health exercise physiologist will run your session.
Clinical Pilates can help you to improve core strength, posture, flexibility, and body awareness. To assist in injury and surgical rehabilitation, post natal recovery, manage chronic pain, help restore normal movement patterns and enhance overall physical function.
Like a normal Pilates session, Clinical Pilates can use a variety of methods and equipment, mainly determined by what is suitable for the participant and also what they most enjoy. Sessions can be mat based with smaller equipment used on the floor, or reformer and table based using equipment variations.
