STRONG and Steady - small group classes

Our STRONG and Steady small group classes might be just what you need if want to work on your strength, balance and function and also have some connection and community while you complete your exercise

Do you want to be STRONG and Steady as you approach your mid-life? Both muscle mass and strength, bone density, co-ordination and balance are primary considerations as hormones change and we get older.

We have 6 classes across Glenbrook and Katoomba that can cover all this for you!!

Classes available are:

  • Thursday 10.30am Glenbrook clinic

  • Thursday 6.00pm Glenbrook clinic

  • Thursday 7.00pm Glenbrook clinic

  • Friday 10.30am Katoomba clinic

You can join our STRONG and Steady classes as a small group, maximum of 6 participants. We run a limited number per week at the moment as we have just started this service and will increase the number of classes as demand increases.

The classes are like a one on one service as the size of the class allows our Exercise Physiologists to pay attention to each participant and their individual needs and cater for a wide variety of strength, fitness and functional abilities. They are suitable if you are injured and unable to complete standard exercise, depending on your injury.

Classes use a variety of different pieces of exercise equipment including dumbbells, weight machines, bands and body weight. They are suitable if you have never done any weight exercise before.

Classes are 60 mins long and include warm up, cooldown, class discussion, set-up, orientation to equipment and education.

Classes are suitable for 50 + age group - but you can still attend if you are younger and would like to.

You can pay casually at $35 for a trial class and if you wish to continue, can purchase a 10 bulk class pack for $300. You have 13 weeks to use your 10 classes and we book you into a spot in the same class on a weekly basis. Provided you give 24 hours notice if you are unable to attend, you are able to do a make up class in a later week - same day and time. We can offer a payment plan if needed. We will also place your sessions on hold for any holiday periods you need as well as between Christmas and New Year period.

A pre class screening is required prior to starting the classes. These are 45 mins and designed to go over any medical and injury history, previous exercise history, goal setting and treatment planning - so you are able to get the best out of the classes. The cost of a 45 minute screening is $120 and can be claimable on your private health if you have exercise physiology cover or claimable through an allied health medicare plan if you are eligible (check with your GP).
